Chat app vs. AI agent?

A chat app is back-and-forth. You ask, it answers. An agent you hand a job, and it goes off and does the steps for you, like searching, filling stuff in, or setting something up.

How does an assistant like Muse know about me?

Basically from what you tell it, what you've connected it to, and what's in your account. Most of these apps have a memory or settings page where you can see what it remembers and delete stuff.

Total beginner, where do I start?

Pick one free app (Gemini, ChatGPT, whatever) and ask it one real thing from your actual day. That's it. You're in.

Can AI explain a confusing document?

Yep. For the big stuff like medical or money, use it to understand, then double-check with a real pro.

Is AI private?

Not really, at least not like a diary. What you type can get saved, and some apps use your chats to train their AI unless you switch that off. So don't paste in passwords, your social security number, bank or card numbers, or anything you'd hate to see on a billboard. Most apps have a setting to turn off training and a temporary chat option. Worth two minutes to flip those on.

Can AI actually hang up on you?

Claude can now end a chat in rare cases where someone keeps being really abusive to it. If you're just grumpy or yelling "that's wrong!" you're fine. Lewis is relieved. Martin says he's been warned.
