Calm rewrite of a tough text/email
Ever stare at a text or email and think, “If I hit send right now, I’m gonna regret it”? Yeah. Me too.
Here’s a tiny AI habit that saves friendships and group chats: paste the rough draft into ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Grok and ask it to calm the whole thing down — same meaning, less heat.
Try this (copy/paste):
“Rewrite this message so it sounds calm, kind, and clear. Keep my point. Remove blame, sarcasm, and all-caps energy. Make it short enough to send as a text. Here’s my draft: [paste your draft]”
Read the rewrite once, tweak a word or two so it still sounds like you, then send. You’re not letting AI talk for you — you’re just letting it take the sharp edges off before your thumbs do damage.
Works for tough replies to family, landlords, coworkers… basically anyone who deserves honesty without the fireworks.
