Find the word, movie or song that's on the tip of your tongue by describing it badly

Easy start

AI for Monsters group picture: Find the word, movie or song that's on the tip of your tongue by describing it badly

You know the thing. The plastic tip on the end of a shoelace. The little metal ring on a pencil that holds the eraser. It's right there, and your brain says nope.

AI is weirdly great at this. Just describe it badly in ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Grok:

“What's the word for [describe it any way you can: what it looks like, what it does, where you've seen it]? Give me your top 3 guesses, most likely first, with a one-line reason for each.”

Works for words, movie titles (“the one where a kid is stuck on a lifeboat with a tiger”), a song you can only hum the vibe of, and that actor from that thing.

None of the 3 right? Add one more detail and ask again. It usually gets there in two tries.

(Aglet and ferrule. You're welcome.)

Go deeper

After the first answer, reply with what you'd change (shorter, simpler, more detail) and ask for a second version. Then save the prompt that worked so you can reuse it.
