Snap a photo of a confusing symbol or warning light and ask what it means
Easy start

Weird little symbol on a laundry tag? Mystery light on the dashboard? Thermostat blinking at you like it knows something you don't?
Take a photo and ask. ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, or Grok can all look at a picture. Tap the plus sign (or the camera or paperclip) next to where you type, add your photo, and say:
“What does this symbol or light mean, in plain English? What should I do about it, and is it urgent? If you're not sure, say so and tell me where to double-check. It's on my [car make and model / washer / thermostat].”
Works great for care labels, appliance error codes, signs on a trip, and those tiny buttons on the remote nobody's ever pressed.
One rule: a red light on the dashboard, or anything with smoke, a gas smell, or sparks? Don't sit there chatting with a robot. Pull over safely, check the owner's manual, or call a pro.
Lewis spent a week thinking his dashboard light was a tiny genie lamp. It was the oil light. Martin drives now.
After the first answer, reply with what you'd change (shorter, simpler, more detail) and ask for a second version. Then save the prompt that worked so you can reuse it.
